Started riding BMX bikes at the age of five and raced for ten years peaking at the BMX World Championships in 1985. That is where I first met Richie Schley.

Soon after I got into Mountainbiking, year 1988-89, in Kamloops.
Moved to Vancouver 1991 and started working at Deep Cove Bikeshop and really started to get into the scene. Raced XC for a few years at the Elite level and then the Downhilling scene started to emerge and jumped into that. Raced DH at the Pro level for RockyMountain starting in 1994-95 and toured Canada racing the Canada Cup races and some Norbas.
Wade Simmons1997 First Mountain bike films were being shot in NorthVancouver and B.C.: The digger movies North Shore Extreme and Kranked.
1998 won the Dual Slalom BC cup Championship jersey.
2001 won the inaugral RedBull Rampage freeride contest in Utah.
2002 second RedBull ride in Australia.
Still competed in the emerging freeride contests but started to focus on mountainbike films.

Next couple of years focused on MTB film segements with stand-outs like: Shift, Ride to the Hills, The first 4 Kranked videos, all the New World Disorder series and all the North Shore Extreme Series.

I still dable in DH racing for fun, being a multiple winner of the Ripper Series in North Vancouver and racing similar casual events.
I also enjoy guiding and coaching MountainBiking all around the world and getting people stoked on this great sport.
