I like where you are going with this. I haven't seen that guy forever, and he was into it. The Grinders days were some fun ones. I beat Crow a few weeks ago and that was a big achievement for me. No disrespect Crow, just the opposite.

Nice Grant, sorry I left out the actual key players. It is always nice to be recognized and not forgotten for you contribution. I know that one all too well.
Cheers to you guys for starting a legacy.

Interestingly enough, 20 years later,with all of whistlers new faces and trail diversity, its the same organizer(grant) on the same course (GREEN LAKE LOOP)with the same riders (crowman, magnet myself).Maybe we can get the Legend, (mike christie) to relive his glory days tonight.

We had loonie races in North Van in the late '80's. Soon after, some of those guys moved to Whistler. Hmmm, I wonder.

Good piece Richie;
The races started in 1990 when Rolo and I cracked the egg.
The first Loonie Winner was Mike Christie and we rolled around in the dirt and drank lucky.

Cheers

[...] It started years ago as a “Loonie Race Series”. Everyone would bring a dollar and put it in the pot and the winner would take all of the money. It was a bunch of the valley’s best riders getting together to have a fun night out while the fastest one on the night take the cash and buy the beers. As with anything cool, it grew and a lot more people would show up. At one point Chad Miles, local legend XC and all around ripper, was making a enough money to pay his rent from winning the race every thursday night…” Read the full article at RichieSchley.com.
